Bananas, bananas and more bananas are at the Jardines de Atlantico situated just outside Los Cristianos. They are open daily from around 10:00 and offer a free bus from the resorts of Los Cristanous and Playa de las Americas for the short trip. Your trip around includes commentary by an English speaking guide and lasts around an hour. In amongst the banana plantations they have a model of Tenerife that explains the elaborate water system. At the end of your visit they have a small shop selling suprisingly banana related products and a cafe !
Bob diving is a type of underwater scooter. Whilst they claim "everybody can do it", you will need to be over 5ft tall, aged 12+, be able to swim and put you head underwater to get into the scooter. The trip runs out of Puerto Colon harbour and lasts around 2 hours in total, during this time you will be underwater for about 30 minutes. The cost per person is a little over £20.
If you do not fancy getting wet there are now Submarine Safaris running from the new Marina. You are comfortably seated in an air conditioned submarine which goes to the local underwater site for an hour or so of some stunning views of the sea bed
Open daily from around 10:00 to 17:00 with a free bus services from both Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Camel riding is great fun, but perhaps not suitable for those that easily suffer from sea sickness ! The ride lasts for about 1 hour around the fields that surround the farm. The Karting Club de Tenerife is situated approx 7 km from Los Cristianos, just off the TF1 Motorway on the road to Guaza - Las Chafiras. A minibus service operates from Fairways on request.

Loro Parque is a 'MUST DO' It is Tenerife's most popular wildlife centre and deservedly receives more than 1.3 million visitors each year. Immaculate throughout, it is situated on the outskirts of the northern resort of Puerto da la Cruz . Home to the largest parrot collection in the world and the biggest dolphinarium in Europe -parrots are not your thing, you'll also find gorillas, jaguars and tigers. The latest addition to the park, opened in the summer of 1999 is the penguin island iceberg which alone is worth the entry fee. This is the largest Penginarium in the world and it snows throughout the day to create an accurate Antarctic environment. Throughout the day visitors are entertained with parrot, dolphin and sea lion shows, which at peak times can become very crowded. So, arrive early at each show to get the best pool side seats. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the park is the aquarium which houses over 20,000 marine animals including some enormous sharks which are viewed through a sub-aquatic Plexiglas tunnel. The park has a large number of restaurants and shops and is open every day of the year. Loro Parque is open daily from 08:30 to 17:00, There is also a free "road train" operating every 20 minutes, for those who would like to visit the nearby port and shopping of Pueto de la Cruz.

Located a 15 minute drive from Fairways, Siam Park is Europe's largest and newest Water Park. Built at a cost of £50 million, it features many state-of-the-art water rides, the world's longest & highest lazy river, plus a wave pool (heights up to 3 metres !) with a white sand beach. One slide takes the rider through alligators, another has a 45m drop into a shark pool and another through a stunning dragon laser show. The Park caters for all ages - from say the 'Lost City', a children's play structure with 120 games, through to adult only adrenalin rides. The Thai design is situated in lush vegetation and large enough to warrant a couple of days of exploring. Plenty of choice for eating and a floating market for shopping and souvenirs.

One highly recommended visit is to Jungle Park , formally known as the Parque Las Aguilas. Set high in the hills behind the resort of Los Cristianos in 75,000 sq. metres of tropical gardens & you will need a full day to see all the attractions. The park has a number of shows running throughout the day, including parrot shows, penguin feeding and a not to be missed free flying eagle demonstration. You are warned not to eat during this show for very good reasons - some people will choose to ignore the advice, just don't sit next to them !
This Park is well presented and is open all year. It is a 20 minute drive from Fairways or you can take the free buses operating from Los Cristianos and Playa Las Americas.

New to Playa de las Americas for the 2003 season was the Sky Park. The best way to describe it is a combination of a small waterpark with flumes and terraces, and white knuckle bungy rides. These include a 60m purpose built bungy tower, and a couple of bungy scad ejector swings. A 10 minute drive from Fairways or free bus operates throughout the day from the Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje areas.
